Question 1: What is the chief and highest end of man?

Westminister Catechism
Man's chief and highest end is to glorify God, and fully to enjoy him forever.
Why were we designed and created to give glory to God. There is no higher purpose. Everything is for His glory. God existed in eternity for His own glory.

Psalm 19
1The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
Colossians 1:16
16For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things have been created through Him and for Him.
Romans 11:36
36For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things To Him be the glory forever. Amen.
